4th of July Parades, Fireworks, & FAMILY FUN!

Since the Fourth of July lands on a Monday this year, this means many of us will be celebrating the holiday over a three day weekend. There are many celebrations to look forward to in Kalamazoo and beyond, and you are certain to find something that the whole family will enjoy! Whether parades during the day, fireworks at night, or other activities in between, there are plenty of opportunities for a family to spend a fun filled day outdoors.

 

4TH OF JULY PARADES

Allegan

Date: 7/3/16

Time: 5:30 p.m.

This parade travels through downtown Allegan on Locust St., Trowbridge St., Walnut St., and Hubbard St. Following the parade there will be music, food, and activities for kids before the fireworks display at dusk!

Bangor

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 9:30 a.m.

The parade will begin at the American Legion and moves from east to west on M-43.

 

Colon

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 11:00 a.m.

This parade starts at the High School and travels to the downtown area.

 

Constantine

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 11:00 a.m.

The parade begins on E. 2nd Street and travels south.

 

Decatur

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 11:00 a.m.

This parade starts at the corner of Mills St. and W. Delaware St. and ends at the VFW on Phelps St.

After the parade there will be activities at the VFW for kids and adults.

 

Dorr

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 10:30 a.m.

View the parade on 18th Street and 142nd Ave., continuing past the parks. After the parade visit Dorr’s South Park for carnival rides, food vendors, and more! Fireworks conclude the day’s events!

Lawton

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 5:00 p.m.

The parade begins on Main St. and continues to 2nd St. and ends at Lawton Elementary School. After the parade there is a free picnic in the elementary school parking lot. This is sponsored by the local churches.

Richland

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 11:00 a.m.

This parade starts downtown on M-89 near Gull Lake Middle School and concludes at Gracespring Bible Church on Gull Road. Head over to the park afterwards for the Gull Lake Area Lions Club Chicken BBQ Fundraiser!

 

Saugatuck

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 2:00 p.m.

This parade begins in front of Saugatuck High School and travels on Elizabeth St. to Allegan St., then through downtown, ending back at the High School.

 

Schoolcraft

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 11:00 a.m.

This parade starts on Eliza at the railroad tracks and ends at the corner of Clay and 14th. After the parade stay for a fun-filled day of activities for all ages and a fireworks display at dusk.

 

South Haven

Date: 7/4/16

Time: 11:00 a.m.

This parade travels through downtown South Haven. This is an annual parade with marching bands, pageant winners, patriotic floats, fire trucks and lots of candy!

Allegan

Date: 7/3/16

Time: 10:30 p.m.

Location: On the riverfront.

Before the fireworks, check out the 4th of July parade, music, food, and other activities!

 

Bangor

Date: 7/4/16

Time: Around 10:00 p.m.

Location: Bangor High School

 

Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show & Balloon Festival Fireworks

Date: 7/2/16 and 7/4/16 (Rain date for 7/2 fireworks will be 7/3. There will be no rain date for the 7/4 fireworks.)

Time: Dusk

Location:  W.K. Kellogg Airport 15551 S Airport Rd, Battle Creek, MI 49015

Once at the airport enter the festival grounds for the best experience, and make it an all day celebration by checking out the many other events available!

Date: 7/2/16 (larger fireworks display) and 7/4/16

Time: The baseball games begin at 7:05 p.m., fireworks follow the game.

Kalamazoo Speedway

Bus Mania Entertainment and Stunt Show

Date: 7/1/16

Time: Fireworks are at dusk. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., racing starts at 7:30 p.m.

Location: Kalamazoo Speedway 7656 Ravine Rd., Kalamazoo, MI

Admission: Adult $20; Teens (13-15) $10; Kids (6-12) $5; Kids 5 & Under FREE!

 

Lawton

Date: 7/4/16 (Rain date is 7/5/16)

Plainwell

Portage

This event is sponsored by the Portage Rotary Club. Admission is free but donations are accepted and will go toward Portage Rotary Charities.

 

Saugatuck

Location: Fireworks are set off behind Schoolcraft High School 551 East Lyons Street Schoolcraft, MI 49087

Schoolcraft also offers a parade and a fun-filled day of activities for all ages!

 

South Haven Light Up the Lake Fireworks

MORE 4TH OF JULY FUN

historic charlton park-4th of July

Historic Charlton Park

34th Annual 4th of July and Veterans Bar-B-Que is 7/4/16 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This is a free event! All are invited to bring a homemade pie to be judged by a panel of experts. Pies will be auctioned off to help keep this event FREE to the public!

A Flag Raising Ceremony and remembrance will be before the Bar-B-Que.
12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Complete Pork and Chicken Bar-B-Que Buffet, hosted by the Veterans Association, the cost for the fundraising Bar-B-Que is TBD.
1 p.m.: Games will begin on the Village Green.

 

Dorr Annual 4th of July Festival

7/2/16-7/4/16 – 3 days of family-oriented fun!
