It’s Kids Day Every Day at the 2015 Kalamazoo County Fair beginning August 10th through August 15th from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center and Fairgrounds! Bring the whole family and enjoy our Kid Zone with interactive activities and special themes each day.
1. SCIENCE PALOOZA! DAY -TUESDAY, AUGUST 11
The Michigan Science Center will be here with over 15 fun science experiment activities such as:
- Build Your Own Straw Rocket
- Experiment with Fun Fly Sticks
- Fun with Dry Ice
- Use Veggies to Power a Light Bulb
- Use Beaks for Eats
- Spot the Starch and many more!
Several area businesses will join in the fun with their own science experiments including the Air Zoo, Consumers Energy, Eaton, Kalamazoo Valley Museum, Parker Hannifin, Messamore Family Chiropractic, and Dunkley International. Kalamazoo RESA and Kalamazoo Robotics Organization will also participate. Free Science Palooza! T-shirts will be given away to the first 800 kids.

2. FAIRYTALE DAY – WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12TH
Join us for a full afternoon of Once Upon a Princess! Your favorite fairytale heroes and their princes will be performing for you on our Kid Zone Stage at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm. After the show you can meet them and get your picture taken. Costumed medieval characters will be roaming the grounds performing and talking with fairgoers all day. Free books will be given away to the first 1000 kids! In the evening Her Majesty’s Royal Guard, a medieval combat troupe will perform in the grandstand. Don’t miss these exciting knights in action! After the show they will be available for photos and to answer all your questions about their armor.
3. DINOSAUR DAY – THURSDAY, AUGUST 13TH
The University of Michigan Natural History Museum presents Dinomite Dinosaurs! See fossils, casts, and models. Sit in a giant T-Rex footprint. Dig for fossils at our fossil dig site and take home a fossil! Make your own dinosaur tooth cast and Triceratops hat and take those home too! See Paleo Joe, a real Paleontologist, entertain you with dinosaur stories. He will also be cleaning fossil bones at his booth all day. Touch and see real prehistoric bones! Free toy dinosaurs will be given away to the first 1000 kids.
4. ANIMAL ADVENTURE DAY – FRIDAY, AUGUST 14TH
The Classic K9 Performance Team will on the fairgrounds all day with high jumping dogs and agility top performers.
See some of the most talented dogs in the country perform their feats. Take a pony ride, visit the Miracle of Birth Tent and see if a baby calf has been born yet. Visit the Horse Arenas for fun & games with horses and see mini ponies perform their driving classes. Visit the animal barns to see over 400 breeds of livestock and watch them be judged. There is even a milk drinking contest. A free stuffed animal will be given away to the first 1000 kids. Don’t miss this great animal adventure!
5. BRICK BUILDING DAY – SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH
The West Michigan Lego Train Club will be displaying an incredible cityscape with superheroes hidden in the buildings. Enter our LEGO building contest and win a prize. Play in our brick building area.The first 1000 kids through the door get a free LEGO Minifigure!
6. AFFORDABLE FAMILY FUN!
Pay one price for admission and Grandstand Shows and kids entertainment are FREE.
Admission is $6.00 for adults, and $2.00 for kids 6-12 years old, and kids 5 and under are free.

- Kalamazoo Civic Theatre
- Cirque Amongus
- Benjammin Music
- Paleo Joe
- Alan Kazam (one of our favorite Kalamazoo favorite magicians)
In the evening, enjoy the lineup of FREE GRANDSTAND SHOWS including;
- Her Majesty’s Royal Guard – a medieval combat troupe
- Classic K9 Dog Performance Team
- Kalamazoo’s Got Talent – a youth talent show
- The Teddy Bear Band
- Combine Derby
7. 4-H ANIMALS, RIDES, CARNIVAL GAMES, AND MORE!
Visit the 4-H animal barns and see animals like cows, pigs, bunnies, horses, and more. Catch a ride on a pony or ride one of the fun rides at the carnival. Or grab a bite at one of the many fair food vendors. You and your family are sure to have a good time at this year’s Kalamazoo County Fair.
