Finding a safe place to take child with food allergies out to eat can be a challenge. Here are a few good picks in the area.

RESTAURANTS

Red Robin | 5710 S Westnedge Ave, Portage, MI 49002

One of the best places in the area for dining out with allergies is Red Robin. They take allergies very seriously. They have an allergy menu to help you make a safe selection. Once you order a manager follows your dish throughout the entire cooking and serving process to prevent cross-contamination. They have a large selection of allergy safe items and their attention to detail makes them stand out as a top safe food option.

Sugar Bear | 101 W Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, MI 49079

A local place with exceptional allergy awareness is Sugar Bear in Paw Paw. They feature a large menu of gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free menu items. They even have a dairy-free ice cream selection. They ask that you mention if you have an allergy and then they take special steps to avoid cross-contamination within their food prep areas.

Chipotle Mexican Grill | 5363 W Main St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009

Chipotle prides themselves on being egg, peanut, tree nut, sesame, and shellfish free in all their restaurants. They also offer a lot of dairy free options. Their website offers an easy to use menu that can help you pick a safe option when ordering.

Food Dance |  401 E Michigan Ave #100, Kalamazoo, MI 49007

Food Dance offers some gluten free options and a great abundance of locally sourced ingredients. A number of their menu items are designated as gluten-free.
