See how the settlers lived and celebrated during Michigan winters when candles lit the night, and decorations were made from objects found in nature. Step into the historic DeLano Homestead and be moved by live holiday music while enjoying the scent of fresh gingerbread cookies and pine boughs. Try your hand at candle making in the 1830’s replica log cabin.Take an old fashion wagon ride (weather permitting) ($2/ride). Learn how to bake gingerbread cookies in a wooden stove Sample warm apple cider. Visit skilled traditional craft artisans, including our blacksmith, while they work on their latest projects.
