Winter Discovery Programs December 27 – January 5 Drop in at the Visitor Center for different programs and activities each day! A Naturalist will be on hand to encourage exploration and assist with the fun. A children’s program will take place each day at 11 am and a program for all ages at 2 pm. Program is included with regular KNC admission.
Wednesday, December 27: Animals Up Close Get up close to KNC’s animal ambassadors. We’ll bring out live animals for each of the day’s programs and learn about what they’re up to in the winter! 11 am: Animal Encounters: Barred Owl 2 pm: Michigan Snakes
Thursday, December 28: Winter Mysteries Search for clues of which animals are active in the winter! 11 am: Story Corner 2 pm: Winter Detective Hike
Friday, December 29: Animal Adaptations Learn some of the amazing ways that animals survive Michigan winters! 11 am: All About Box Turtles 2 pm: Michigan Mammals
Saturday, December 30: Birds of Prey Learn firsthand about the birds of prey that live at KNC. 11 am: Creature Feature 2 pm: Live Raptor Program
Sunday, December 31: Winter Scenery Hike 2 pm: Join us for a casual walk along the Habitat Haven trail. We’ll look and listen for animals as we enjoy the beauty of winter. The program will end with hot cocoa in the Visitor Center. Come dressed for the weather!
Tuesday, January 2: Arctic Animals Learn about animal friends in the far north! 11 am: Preschool Explorers 2 pm: Arctic Animal Adaptations
Wednesday, January 3: Wild Animal Neighbors Learn about some amazing creatures that live in and around the Visitor Center. 11 am: Animal Encounters 2 pm: Predators!
Thursday, January 4: Winter Plants Explore how plants have adapted to winter! 11 am: Story Corner 2 pm: Winter Tree ID Hike
Friday, January 5: Animal Tracks & Signs Search for the clues animals leave behind! 11 am: Track Rubbings 2 pm: Animal Signs Hikehttps://www.naturecenter.org/Home/Calendar.aspx
