Happy Halloween season! We’ve updated our annual list of events in the area for Halloween and once, again, there are so many to choose from! Get your kids dressed up, and even dress up yourself, there’s something for everyone! Whether you’re looking for trick-or-treating, Halloween crafts, pumpkin carving, or parades, there are so many fun events that many in your family will enjoy.

Zoo Boo | Binder Park Zoo Battle Creek | October 19-October 30 | Trick-or-treat trail, hayride, ZooBoo Express, Binda Conservation Carousel, storytellers, backlight mini golf and more. Haunted Africa is open on Friday & Saturday nights. (Must be accompanied by a parent for 15 and younger for Haunted Africa.)

Camp Kidwell 15th Annual Halloween Festival | Camp Kidwell, Bloomingdale, MI | October 28-30 | Trick-or-treating, hayrides, haunted cabins (kid friendly), crafts, a haunted trail, games and food. Costumes encouraged, but not required.

Haven Harvest Festival | Downtown South Haven | October 21-23 | Zombie run and stroll, hayrides, costume contest, live bands and dancing, pie baking contest, activities for adults and kids.

Stokes Homestead Fall Festival | Stokes Homestead Farm Market, Grand Junction | October 15-16 | Arts & crafts fair, trick-or-treating, pumpkin bowling, live music, caramel apple station, and more.

Creepy Crafternoon | Kalamazoo Library – Central Branch, Kalamazoo | Drop in and make a creepy crawly pet.

Halloween Train Rides | Eden Springs Park, Benton Harbor | Visit and enjoy a Halloween-themed Train Ride.

Small Wonders Spectacular Spiders | Kalamazoo Nature Center, Kalamazoo | Explore spiders through interactive learning stations, including time outdoors (weather permitting). No registration required, additional fee to regular admission.

Halloween at The Village | Vicksburg Historic Village, Vicksburg | Safe trick or treating, fun and spooky ghost stories, a chilling artifact display, decorating make and take gourds, and other ghoulishly great arts and crafts, and additional spooktacular fun awaits. Don’t forget to board the “haunted” caboose and freight car.

Halloween Story Time – Hearts and Hands | Vicksburg District Library, Vicksburg | Come to the library for a Halloween themed storytime.

Fall Spooktacular | Schoolcraft Community Library, Schoolcraft | Celebrating autumn with an evening of comedy and trick-or-treat in the library. See Joel’s Spooktacular Comedy Show, an exciting-not-scary show that celebrates the spirit of the season and is appropriate for kids and grownups. Following the show there will be trick-or-treating, so come in costume.

Hogwarts Halloween Party | Comstock Township Library, Comstock | Come dressed in your Halloween costume and enjoy this Harry Potter-themed Halloween party with games and crafts. There will be pizza and snacks and activities are designed for older children in grades 4th through 12th.

Trunk or Treat | Centerpoint Church, Kalamazoo | Dress in your favorite costume for this family-friendly event. Decorated trunks, tons of candy, hot beverages, donuts and inflatables. 

Pumpkin Carving Party | Kalamazoo Nature Center, Kalamazoo | Carve a pumpkin to light up the night. Learn how to make healthy treats from pumpkin carving leftovers. Pumpkins will be on display during Creatures of the Night event and can be taken home on Sunday.

Stage Fright Halloween Magic Dinner Show | Portage District Library, Portage | Pack your dinners tonight then come to the library for a magic show, feel free to wear your costumes too.

The Gilmore Spooktacular | Gilmore Car Museum, Hickory Corners | Trick-or-treating throughout the galleries (for children 12 and under), a featured film in the theater, special treats and samples from local businesses and more. Safe Halloween | Bronson Park, Kalamazoo | A variety of fall and Halloween activities. There will be plenty of candy to fill Halloween bags, and complementary cider and Sweetwater’s donut holes will be provided while supplies last.

All Hallows Evening | Historic Charlton Park, Hastings | Trick– or–treating, hay ride, cider, costume parade, and costume contest.

Creatures of the Night: Tricks and Tales | Kalamazoo Nature Center, Kalamazoo | Non-scary Halloween alternative. Meet enchanted critters as they come to life along the trail. At the end of the walk, make a craft, listen to music, enjoy a snack, and sip some hot cider.

Spooky Spaceship Adventure | Kalamazoo Valley Museum, Kalamazoo | A brave and daring crew is needed to help retrieve an abandoned spacecraft. Appropriate for ages 2 and up; children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Safe Halloween: Haunted Houses | Kalamazoo Valley Museum, Kalamazoo | Create a variety of items you would find in a haunted house, from cobwebs to dishes, brooms, and lanterns. Design ghosts, assemble bats, tombstones and much more.

Halloween Late Skate | Rollerworld, Kalamazoo | Five hours of skating and a spooktacular buffet.

Dog O Ween | Oak Ridge Feed, Kalamazoo | Costume contests, canine “Tricks for Treats” obstacle course, Pet Adoption Event, scavenger hunt, and more!

Fall Harvest Festival | St. Michael Lutheran Church, Portage | A Christ-centered alternative to Halloween. Enjoy a fun family-friendly evening with games, prizes, donuts, dancing and a parade of candy. Children are invited to wear family-friendly costumes (non-scary). 

Trunk or Treat | Victory Baptist Church, Portage | Everyone is welcome to join the merry, not scary celebration. Activities include trick-or-treating, bounce house, and refreshments.

Ross-Augusta Annual Haunted House | Ross-Augusta Fire Station, Augusta | Kid-friendly haunted house designed for kids 12 and under. Trick-or-treat through the haunted house, see fire trucks, learn about fire safety and more! Suggested $1 donation to enter.

Saturday Spooktacular: Target | Various Target locations | Free goodies bags and other giveaways. Costumes are encouraged.

St. Margaret School 25th Annual Halloween Carnival | St. Margaret School, Otsego | Activities include games, fabulous food, trick-or-treat village with over 20 stops, costume contest with 2 dozen winners and lots of candy and prizes.

3rd Annual Mattawan ZOO BOO | Mattawan |  Activities include hayrides,animals to pet and feed, face painting, barn dancing, Bounce House, and GAMES. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Cancer Families United! Come in costumes.
