Free or Cheap Eats for Kids – Updated February 2017

What’s better than taking your kiddos out to dinner? One you don’t have to pay for!

Thanks to feedback from our KZOOkids.com readers, here is the updated list for area restaurants, listed by day, that either have free or cheap places to eat.* Keep in mind that while we may mention Kids Eat Free, it usually is tied to an Adult Entrée.  Also if you see a deal that we’ve missed or is no longer valid, leave a comment below!

*Terms and conditions apply and are subject to change. Be sure to call ahead to the restaurant to make sure they are participating in the promotion. This guide has been updated February 2017.


Main Street Pub (including Fletcher’s Pub and University Roadhouse)

Sunday and Monday, kids eat free with the purchase of one adult meal per child at all Main Street Pub locations (including Fletchers Pub and University Roadhouse).  They offer the typical fare of grilled cheese, chicken fingers, cheeseburgers – all with French fries and a small ice cream sundae.

Brann’s Steakhouse

On Sunday night (from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.), Brann’s offers kid’s meals for $1.50 for children 10 and younger. Several of the options to choose from include a cheeseburger, chicken tenders and flat bread cheese pizza.  All have the choice of French fries or broccoli and a drink.

Kumo Hibachi & Sushi

On Sunday kid’s hibachi meals are 1/2 off. Kid’s meals are for ages 10 and younger and come with choice of entree, side of vegetable, one shrimp & fried rice. Also, salad and clear soup to start. Valid at the Hibachi room only.

Sakura 2

Sunday special 1/2 off kid’s hibachi meal with the purchase of an adult hibachi meal. Children’s menu includes Hibachi chicken, shrimp, steak or scallops. Dine in only.




Monday through Wednesday, all day, kids (12 and younger) eat free with the purchase of an adult entree. Both Kalamazoo and Portage locations are participating. Applebee’s has added healthier side options such as house salad, vanilla yogurt with strawberries, and apple dippers with yogurt to accompany the kids’ meal choices.


Monday and Tuesday nights from 4 – 10 p.m. kids 12 and younger receive a free Jr. Kids meal (pasta, mini corn dogs, grilled chicken to name a few).  Two kids meals free per adult entrée purchased.

The Richland Pub

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., children 12 and younger receive one free kid’s meal with one adult meal purchase.

North Eleven

On Tuesday and Saturday head out to North Eleven and receive one complimentary kid’s meal with purchase of adult meal. Offer valid dine-in only between 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.


Tuesday night from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. is kid’s night featuring Spaghetti Smarts activities. In addition, Fazoli’s offers up to three kids meals (.99 cents each) per one adult entrée purchase for children 12 and younger.


Old Chicago Pizza

In addition to pizza, Old Chicago has a full kids menu, for children 10 and under. The menu includes chicken bites, cheeseburger, and build your own pasta to name a few. On Tuesday’s from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, all kids meals are .99 cents.


At the Shaver Road, Portage location kids eat free on Tuesday’s from 5-9 p.m. with an adult meal purchase.  The kids menu offers individual pizza’s as well as the option for grilled cheese, turkey grinder, boneless chicken bites, or spaghetti.

Bob Evans

Tuesday night after 4 p.m. is family night at Bob Evan’s. Children 12 and younger receive one free kids’ meal with each adult entrée purchased, dine in only.


Tuesday from 4:00 –10:00 p.m. kids eat free.  Two kids meals free per adult entrée purchased. Denny’s menu has grilled chicken on a stick, Jr. cheeseburger, spaghetti as several kid’s choice options.

Lone Star Steakhouse (Battle Creek)

Kids 12 and under eat free on Tuesday – all day. One kids entrée per adult entrée purchase.

Texas Corral

Every Tuesday kids 12 and under receive one kid’s meal for .99 cents with the purchase of an adult entree. Limit one .99 cents kid’s meal per adult entree purchased.

Texas Roadhouse

Round up the lil’ Roadies as Tuesday is “Kid’s Night” from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Texas Roadhouse offers .99 cent kids meals (ranger meals excluded). Texas Roadhouse often has fun games, arts & crafts, theme nights and more; make sure to check ahead! Limit one offer per adult entrée purchased, dine in only.

It is family night on Wednesday’s at Zoup! After 4:00 p.m., children receive a free KidsZ! Meal with the purchase of an entree.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Wednesday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. kid’s meals are $2.50. The kids’ menu at Buffalo Wild Wings includes cheeseburgers, corn dogs, wings, chicken tenders and mac and cheese.


Logan’s Roadhouse

On Wednesday, for guests 12 and under, one kid’s meal with each adult entree purchased. Meal options include the ‘Roadie’ – a mini steakhouse burger or kids ribs along with several other options. Meals come with choice of one side and drink.

Old Country Buffet

Thursday is “Family Night” at Old Country Buffet. Children 11 and younger eat for $1.99 from 4:00 p.m. – close, beverage included. Limit two children per one adult entrée (buffet) purchase.

Kids eat FREE on Thursdays at Sugarbear in Paw Paw. Purchase an adult meal and receive a FREE kids meal. Children 10 and under. One FREE Cub meal per each adult meal and 2 beverages purchased.

Steak ‘n Shake

Steak ‘n’ Shake offers a ‘Kids Eat Free All Day Every Day’ promotion – for every $9 spent during the dine-in experience, one child (ages 12 and younger) in the party will receive their Kids Plate for free. Kids Plates include all of the restaurant’s most popular kid-friendly meals all of which are served with a choice of fries or applesauce.
