We have ideas to discover, dine, and play in Ann Arbor. Enjoy all that Ann Arbor has to offer!
(University of Michigan Museum of Natural History)
Visit the dinosaurs and other pre-historic animals at the U of M Museum of Natural History. There is plenty to see to keep the kids busy in this three story museum. If you’re there on a weekend, make sure to check out the Dinosaur Tours. These are free docent-led tours of the dinosaur exhibits every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.

We love all of the eclectic stores in Ann Arbor! If you love shopping (or even browsing), this is the place for you. One of our favorites is the bookstore, Literati. Make sure you venture to the shops at Kerrytown Market for some really unique shops. Mudpuddles Toys is the place to go for the toy-lover in your family.

You can stop at Zingerman’s Deli near the University of Michigan campus and get their famous chocolate bread and hot chocolate. This place is legendary among foodies and the casual atmosphere is perfect for kids. Blue Tractor is a BBQ and brewery joint. Kids can enjoy chicken tenders, wraps, burgers and macaroni and cheese. We love places that have great kid’s menus! Afternoon Delight serves breakfast and lunch (an Ann Arbor classic!). You’ll find yummy omelets, frozen yogurt, sandwiches, bagels, and more.
(Kilwin’s Ice Cream Parlor)
There are plenty of options to grab a sweet treat for the kids while you’re in town. Some of our favorites include the Cupcake Station, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Shop, and Kilwin’s. Another local favorite is Washtenaw Dairy which is one of Ann Arbor’s favorite ice cream spot for almost 80 years.
Try strolling around the grounds of the University of Michigan. Take a walk across the Diag on Central Campus. It is never too early to plant the seeds of college for your children.
The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum has plenty of hands-on and interactive for the kids to enjoy. You’ll want to allocate at least a few hours for the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. This museum is perfect for kids seven and under. Plus, if you’re an ATSC museum passport member, you get in for half price.
