GRAND OPENING IS SET

The final countdown is on for the grand opening of Allegan’s premier adventure attraction, Allegan Event Z!P (new zip line in Allegan). Be one of the first to fly over the Kalamazoo River at the Grand Opening on 10:00 am on Saturday, June 10 during the city’s annual downtown Bridgefest. The new attraction will have special guests, giveaways, music and more for the big event.

BRIDGEFEST 2017

Allegan Event Z!P will be hosting their Grand Opening during the annual Allegan BridgeFest. BridgeFest 2017 has a slew of events planned for the weekend that will pair perfectly with an afternoon zip line ride. Events will include a pancake breakfast, 5kish race, Beer Garden, Photo Booth, and much more. BridgeFest 2017 will take place between 8am and 11pm on Saturday June 10th 2017.

The main attractions are the two zip lines stretching 1,200 feet. Participants climb the main structure on the river’s north bank at Riverfront Plaza and soar close to 55 feet over the water. The zip line stretches 600 feet across the river to a smaller structure, where riders land and prepare for another zip back to the main 45-foot tall structure.

Participants can exit by descending the stairs or continue the adventure on the Quick Jump for the ultimate free-fall experience from 55-feet in the air off of the same structure.

“If you’re an adrenaline-junkie you have to do the Quick Jump!” said Byron Bell, Allegan Event Z!P Manager. “I step off the platform and gasp every time. The drop is smooth and controlled though so it’s a very comfortable ride.”

“We’re thrilled to bring adventure to our city that will entice people from all over the state to check out Allegan,” said Jim Liggett, owner of Ropes Courses, Inc. “This attraction was long overdue and the buzz of the activity here will be very exciting to witness…right in our backyard.”

EXPANSION PLANS FOR ALLEGAN EVENT Z!P

Allegan Event plans on expanding their footprint in the next year, too. Future entertainment and leisure facilities will include a grill restaurant and a ropes course adventure center to host large group events and celebratory occasions.

“We’re ready for business and can’t wait to welcome individuals, families and groups to experience our adventure,” said Byron Bell, Manager.

The ride allows you to feel the exhilaration of soaring through the air in a safe, secure way. Manufactured by Allegan’s very own Ropes Courses, Inc., the CTS Zip Line uses patented technology which ensures a secure connection to the tracking system at all times throughout the adventure.

WHAT TO EXPECT IF YOU PARTICIPATE

Closed-toe shoes are a must, as well as comfortable clothing. The attractions are designed for all levels including beginners. Participants must be at least 42-inches tall and weigh under 285 pounds to participate. Participants are outfitted with a full body harness and a redundant sling line that is hooked into the tracking system at the launch platform for their soaring adventure in the sky. A waiver of liability is not required to participate.
