One of the great things that we love about Kalamazoo in the summer is all of the great outdoor concerts, performances, and now, the outdoor movies! We are fortunate to have so many great options…Best of all they are free! Thanks to all of the great local organizations that make these summer series possible! Enjoy!


Summer Concert Series at Bronson Park

Bronson Park, 200 S. Westnedge, Kalamazoo, MI

Concerts in the Park will be offered Sundays from June 8 – August 24 at 4:00 p.m. in Bronson Park at the Rotary Club Stage. Concerts are free and family friendly. Bring your picnic basket, a blankets,  and plan to spend a late summer afternoon listening to the variety of music offered at the Concerts.

Summer Concerts at Kindleburger Park

Kindleberger Park, Parchment, MI

Enjoy a relaxing evening in Kindleberger Park at The Stage. Bring the kids, a picnic dinner and your lawn chairs for an entertaining night in Parchment! All concerts are scheduled for Sundays at 6:30 pm unless otherwise noted. Rain site for Sunday Summer concerts is Haven Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Road.

Thursday Night Jazz In The Park

Bronson Park, 200 S. Westnedge, Kalamazoo, MI

Third Thursday Jazz New this summer – Jazz in Bronson Park! In collaboration with Fontana Chamber Arts, the City of Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation, and sponsored by the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo will bring cool jazz to the third Thursday evenings in Bronson Park. All concerts begin at 6:00 pm. Food trucks will be available around 5:00 pm.

Lunchtime Live!

Bronson Park, 200 S. Westnedge, Kalamazoo, MI

The “Lunchtime Live!” summer event series is back by popular demand! Bronson Park will come alive with live musicians, pop-up retail vendors, local food trucks, and summertime activities. Stroll down during your lunch hour or bring the kids during summer break because there will be something for everyone. Scheduled Friday from 11:30 am -1:30 pm.

Movies Under the Stars at Oshtemo Park

7275 West Main Street, Kalamazoo, MI

See an outdoor movies at Oshtemo Township Park! Bring a blanket or lawn chair, bug spray, and a flash light (park is not lighted). Co-sponsored by Oshtemo Friends of the Parks and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. Weather permitting.

Grab a chair or blanket and join us under the stars for our “Movie in the Park” series, it’s FREE! Family-friendly activities and games will begin around 7:30 pm with the featured movie beginning at sunset. Popcorn and snacks will be available for purchase.

Celery Flats Music Fest

Celery Flats Historic Area, 7335 Garden Lane, Portage, MI

Enjoy an afternoon of Bluegrass and Americana music in beautiful Celery Flats Historical Area. This is the kick-off event for the new Friends of the Park and is sponsored by the Portage Park Board and the K’zoo Folklife Organization. Food concession will be available. Be sure to bring your family to this awesome show! Concert will be held in the grassy common, so bring your chair or blanket.

Riverfront Concert Series

Riverfront Park, Southside Marina, South Haven, MI

When you’re out and about or are spending a sunny day at the beach in South Haven, check out the Riverfront Concert Series in South Haven. Rain location is Huron Street Pavilion in South Haven, MI. All concerts are on Thursdays at 7 pm unless otherwise noted.

Richland Township Park

The Richland Community Library and Richland Township Park will be showing this classic movie at the Richland Township Park.

Schedule
  • August 15, Wizard of Oz starts at 7:45 pm

5 pm-Color the yellow brick road! All yellow chalk will be provided. Meet at the gazebo next to the playgrounds

6 pm-Costume parade! Meet at the gazebo and parade around the newly created yellow brick road.

7 pm-Ice cream treats provided by MOO-ville Creamery.

7:45 pm-The Movie begins! Location will be determined that day depending on the wind and the weather!

Everyone is welcome to bring their dinner, chairs, blankets, and bug spray!


Lakeside Concert at Kellogg Manor

W.K. Kellogg Manor House, 3700 E. Gull Lake Drive, Hickory Corners, MI

Relax by the shores of beautiful Gull Lake! Enjoy a free performance by the Cereal City Concert Band, saluting Women Who Care, a philanthropic project supporting Battle Creek-area arts. Special guest performers include Edye Evans Hyde (vocalist), Terry Lower (keyboard) and Larry Ochiltree (drums) with guest conductor, Ed Zentera. Bring a lawn chair and picnic lunch to make the most of this popular annual tradition. Following the concert, tours of the historic W.K. Kellogg Manor House are offered from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tours begin every 20 minutes, with the last tour departing at 6:00pm. Families welcome.
