Numerous snow days takes cabin fever to a whole new level. So, what to do on yet another snow day?

Here’s a quick list of ideas to help you come up with your game plan for the day. Hang in there and think SPRING!

Note: If you plan on heading out, you’ll want to check with the venue to verify that they are open. 

TWENTY SNOW DAY IDEAS

1. Make it a pajama day! Take advantage of staying in your pajamas all day.

2. Check out the Kalamazoo Valley Museum and do their Self-Guided Tour. Or visit the new Goose Bumps: The Science of Fear exhibit at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum.

3. Go play– Pull out your favorite board or card games. Play hide-and-seek. Play indoor hop scotch or indoor bowling. Or order/buy a new game for your next snow day. Check out these Ten Board Games You’ve Never Played But You Need To.

4. Read together – Savor your child’s favorite story, or dive into a new adventure. Take the opportunity to discover a classic together. Scholastic books has a great Book List and Recommendation section.

5. Bring the snow indoors. One of our readers filled her bath tub with snow and let the kids play inside.

6. Make it a science day. Try some experiments with Kitchen Chemistry.

8. Have an emergency plan for the next snow day. Next time you’re at Target, Meijer, or Toys-R-Us, pick up an extra game, book or toy and save for the next Snow Day. You’ll be glad you did.

10. Send a video greeting from your kiddos to their grandparents.

11. Make some cards for your local nursing home. They can always use something to brighten up the day.

12. Create an indoor scavenger hunt.

14. Go to an Indoor Play Place Out of Town. There are lots of fun play places within an hour of Kalamazoo. Use the day to explore a new indoor play place. (This is assuming the roads are clear later today).

16. Play at one of the Indoor Play Places around Kalamazoo.

17. Go out for Ice Cream. Yes, it sounds counterintuitive, but that what make it’s fun!

18. Netflix kids movies can be a lifesaver on a day like today.

19. Head over to Bookbug and pick up a new book.

20. Build an indoor fort.
