Trader Joe’s Is Now Open In Grand Rapids

OUR TRIP TO TRADER JOE’S

We ventured up to Grand Rapids yesterday to visit the new Trader Joe’s location at 3684 28th St. SE in Grand Rapids. The excitement has been building for months about our area’s first Trader Joe’s and we wanted to check things out on their first day opened, September 25.

When we entered the store, a DJ was playing music and the excitement of the new store was definitely in the air. The parking lot was packed with cars and mini-vans and a ton of shoppers were at the store getting their first peek as well.

If you love Trader Joe’s, you’ll definitely want to check out the store in the upcoming months. The store hours are 8:00 am to 9:00 pm daily. Don’t know what to get at Trader Joe’s? Click here for a list from The Kitchn which has 17 favorite products to get at Trader Joe’s.

IF YOU GO

Here’s a few tips to know if you’re planning on heading up to check out the store:

  • Make sure that you know the store hours.
  • Plan your route ahead of time if you’re not familiar with the drive to Grand Rapids. You may want to combine your trip to GR with something else to do while you’re in the area. Art Prize is happening through October 11. Or plan a visit to Meijer Gardens and Catch Air which are two of our favorite family friendly attractions in the area.
  • Plan what’s on you “must get” list of your favorite Trader Joe’s items.
  • Anticipate standing in a long checkout line (bring something to keep the kids busy while you’re waiting).
