Pumpkins in the Park | Hicks Park, Plainwell | Saturday, October 17| Costume contest, Trick-or-treating, games, hayride, bake sale, and more.
Boo on Your Bike! | Kal-Haven Trail Head, South Haven | Sunday, October 18 | Ride the Kal-Haven Trail where you will find treats & scary surprises along the way. Costumes are encouraged.
South Haven Harvest Festival | Downtown South Haven | Sunday, October 18 | Zombie 5K, hayrides, polka bands, cider & beer tent, pumpkin carving & river toss, and more.
Zoo Boo | Binder Park Zoo Battle Creek | October 14-October 30 | Trick-or-treat trail, hayride, ZooBoo Express, Binda Conservation Carousel, storytellers, backlight mini golf and more. Haunted Africa is open on Friday & Saturday nights. (Parental guidance is recommended for kids under 12 for Haunted Africa).

Special Events Happening This Weekend
Crescendo Cafe and Open House | October 17 | Crescendo Academy of Music, downtown Kalamazoo | FREE music, local food and fun for Crescendo families and their friends and neighbors. Performances ongoing by Crescendo faculty and students; games and activities for kids (including face painting and arts and crafts); the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra instrument petting zoo; and Music Together® and Orff demonstration classes.
Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Crown Jewel | Parish Theatre, Kalamazoo | October 16-24 | You’ll love this world premiere of this all-new, mystery-filled musical by the Civic Youth Theatre.
Alligator Round Up | Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary, Athens | October 17 & 18 | You can help move the alligators and turtles in for the winter Season. The admission price is $5 per person for everyone.
Chemistry Day | Kalamazoo Valley Museum, Kalamazoo | October 17 | The Kalamazoo Valley Museum and the Kalamazoo Section of the American Chemical Society will host local chemists as they provide your yearly favorites as well as a colorful selection of new experiments. All hands-on activities are free!
Zipline Adventures: Fly Like a Bird | Kalamazoo Nature Center, Kalamazoo | October 17 | Experience the rush of soaring through the trees! Gain a new perspective on bird flight and migration, and have some fun! KNC’s Adventure Staff will guide you through a short educational program and a safety orientation before you take flight on our ground-landing zip line. Age Level: 4th grade and up. Register online at NatureCenter.org by Friday, October 16; walk-ins welcome if space allows.
Kalamazoo County 4-H Harvest Festival | Kalamazoo Expo Center, Kalamazoo | October 17 | Family friendly event with games and food prepared by 4-H community clubs. Costumes are welcome. Admission is free, tickets for games are $0.50 each, food pricing varies.
