What do you remember when you think about your own camp experiences as a kid? Do you remember being nervous but then finding you had the confidence to climb a tower or lead a camp song? Were you unsure that you would get along with the other kids but then formed a lifelong friendship? Do you still remember the special feeling of that evening campfire when all seemed right with the world and you were truly a member of a community?

When you send your child to summer camp, you’re giving them the gift of a summer to remember.

Endless Adventures

Overnight summer camp helps to prepare your child for adulthood. They learn valuable lessons such as teamwork, resilience, how to make decisions and try new things they would never experience outside of camp. At Sherman Lake YMCA Camp, there’s no end to the adventure for summer campers. Fun activities abound such as swimming, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, indoor & outdoor climbing, sports, horseback riding, ropes courses and even time just to play. State of the art facilities include all-season carpeted cabins, each with a shower and bath plus a full service recreation center, indoor pool, splash pad and more.

The Y’s Four Core Values

At Sherman Lake YMCA Camp, campers experience the power of living through HCRR (Hick-er). The Y’s four core values – Honesty, Caring, Respect, Responsibility – are emphasized in each camp program. Through discovery of the great outdoors, skill development, and building healthy relationships, campers leave with a renewed sense of achievement, belonging, confidence and the courage to try something new.
