4-H Camp Kidwell: Reach New Heights this Summer

Camp Kidwell Summer

Camp Hard, Camp for Life

“Going into the woods is like going home.” ~ John Muir

Nothing is more awe-inspiring than nature.

4-H Camp Kidwell strives to bring kids into that space where they can experience all that nature has to offer and learn life-changing skills in a safe, fun, and loving environment.

Campers will test their wings, gain leadership skills, resilience and confidence. Kids beg to return each summer so they can once again sleep under the stars, instead of being plugged into technology.

Making Memories and Enjoying Traditions

Eagle Lake rings with infectious giggles and squeals every summer, with campers jumping off of the water trampoline, canoeing, and visiting Kidwell Island. The surrounding forest is full of cheers as kids land their first bullseye in archery, and crest the top of the gigantic climbing wall. Combine all of this fresh-aired fun with horseback riding and themed weeks make kids won’t even notice the electronics left behind.

I went to Camp Kidwell when I was young. It shaped me into the person I am and I still use many of the skills I gained there to this day. Though the staff changes from season to season, the spirit and traditions remain the same.” ~ former camper and staff member

What You Can Expect at 4-H Camp Kidwell

4-H Camp Kidwell specializes in camps for kids 4-16 years old, no matter their comfort level in being far from home.  Need to bunk with a close friend? No problem. Ready to fly completely on their own? Camp is the place to do just that, all while resting their head in a comfy cabin, surrounded by new friends.

Junior Day Campers (ages 4-7) have their own special group where they enjoy all of the fun of camp, without spending the night. Crafts, exploring nature, acting, and visiting the horses with a weekly theme will have them falling asleep on the way home dreaming of that day they’ll attend overnight camp.

Regular Day Campers (ages 7-16) have their choice of themed day or overnight camps. 4-H Camp Kidwell also offers specialty camps such as Horse Crazy, where additional time is allotted to spend with the camp’s gentle horses. Themed-style camp includes Shipwrecked, where the USS Kidwell has crashed on Kidwell Island, and the kids need to learn how to survive.

Parents rave about their kids’ experiences, whether first-time or veteran campers, in this home away from home:

As a mom of two first time campers, I could not be more thankful for both of my daughters first camp experience. The staff was so inviting, they really made my girls feel at home for 10 hours a day. The activities seem to be endless and the experience has been rewarding….4-H Camp Kidwell won our hearts! Thank you endlessly!” ~ Parent of a camper
