Smell the Hint of Fall in the Air

By that, we mean the taste of delicious donuts served hot straight from the fryer and sipping fresh-pressed cider at the farm.

Are you excited that the crisp air is back and you can get cozy with sweaters and jeans? Head out for some of the Kalamazoo area’s best apple cider and donuts.

Don’t run to the car after picking up your tasty treats: most of these farms host fall activities.  Ride a zip line, visit a petting farm, or dig into a giant corn box before heading home with your donut stash. Don’t forget the camera as these adorable goats or oversized swings provide the perfect photographic opportunities to capture memories each year.

I had a birthday party for my kids last Sunday at Soil Friends Farm. They had a table and bales of hay for extra seating reserved for our party. Our group was able to take an exclusive hayride when we got there. The kids loved it, they were back and fourth between the bounce house and playground the entire party, plus they got to feed the adorable goats. Instead of cake and ice cream we had delicious donuts and fresh cider from the farm. They even have hard cider made right there on the farm. If the hard cider doesn’t warm you up, they have a huge fire pit with plenty of seating. We even picked pumpkins after the party before heading home. I would definitely recommend it. It was the perfect fall birthday party that didn’t break the bank.
