Big Truck-3

On July 28, 2016 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Portage District Library, kids of all ages are invited to join in the excitement as the Portage District Library and the City of Portage Department of Public Services come together to give you the chance to climb aboard real dump trucks, excavators, front-end loaders, and more.

Big Truck-1

“I love special events like this that really showcase the uniqueness of Library programming,” said Christy Klien, the Library Director. “Our librarians and staff love to think outside the box, and the ”Big Truck Petting Zoo” is a wonderful example of them doing that in a creative way.”

Along with seeing and touching the big trucks, crews who operate the vehicles will offer construction site safety tips, explain how the big machines work and their uses, and what it takes to operate them. The Big Truck Petting Zoo is free and there is no registration required. Parking is limited so please plan ahead. The event will be canceled in case of rain.
