Workout and Chill Out Wednesdays
All summer long, Wednesday evenings offer a choice of two free public events – guaranteed fun for all ages.
Choose to join Workout Wednesdays at the Arcadia Festival Place, from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM for a variety of FREE workout genres presented by local Kalamazoo businesses. Yoga, Pilates, dance, strength and conditioning training – learn something new and get fit at the same time.
Take the family over to Bates Alley for Beats on Bates from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Enjoy dinner or a beverage at one of several restaurants on Bates Alley, listen to live music from local artists, and enjoy backyard games along the alley.
Wednesdays are the perfect mid-week way to energize every family member.
Bikes, Beats, and Cars Hit Up Bates Alley
Bates Alley, a newly renovated space between 200 and 276 E. Michigan Avenue, is hosting a variety of summer weekend events, perfect for kicking back in Kalamazoo.
- June 15, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, exotic sports cars and live jazz music will fill up the alley and nearby parking lot during Autos & Eats On the Alley, presented by Fresh Coast Detail.
- Every first Friday of the month (through October) from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Vintage in the Zoo (V.I.T.Z.) HOP-UP Block Party is full of music, artists, and a vintage market with a rotating selection of everyone’s favorite vendors.
- The 3rd Sundays of every month (through September) from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, custom and vintage bikes take over the alley with the ZooMoto Motorcycle Gathering. There’s a bike for everyone with a mix of custom European, Japanese, and American bikes, along with custom shops, vendors, and mouth-watering food offerings by the restaurants lining the alley. Drop in on your Sunday ride, come and eye the bikes, or absorb the culture.
Festivals and Shopping + Means Fun for the Family
Don’t forget about everyone’s favorite festivals that families have come to love – the Kalamazoo Blues Festival (July 12 – 13), and RibFest (August 1-3). Hosted at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place, the festivals are the perfect outing for friends and family to gather.
