An evening of celebrating creativity with The Accidentals
5PM – 9PM | Free & Open to the public
We’re jumping into summer vacation with an outdoor concert featuring one of Michigan’s hottest indie-folk bands, The Accidentals. Indulge in delicious food truck fare, craft drinks, hands-on art-making activities, exclusive art for purchase, and community conversations. Start your summer story — boat rides, beach walks, cookouts and sunsets — at the SCA!
Breeze into the lobby to grab a colorful cocktail then visit the gallery to see our brand new exhibition Storied Drawings: Works by Rebecca Green, Ginnie Hsu, Hillery Sproatt and Libby Vanderploeg.
The exhibition brings together four talented young artists and visual story-tellers whose drawing-based works range from GIF’s, interactive illustration (featuring conductive ink!) and animation to painting and ceramics. The exhibit offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into each of their diverse practices, as well as their unique cross-disciplinary applications that include children’s books, advertising, textiles, and fabrics.
