Maple Sugar Festival

Saturday, March 7, 2020 - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Since 1966, KNC’s Maple Sugar Festival (MSF) has offered an opportunity for families to experience the maple sugaring process up close. MSF has become a local tradition for nearly 6 decades. It’s a celebration of the first hint of springtime and an opportunity to taste the sugary deliciousness of pure maple syrup. After a delicious pancake breakfast, head outside to learn about the wonders of a Michigan Maple Sugar Bush as our tour guides take you through the process step-by-step! Some of our Animal Ambassadors will even make appearances throughout the day!

As the first agricultural crop of the season, maple sugaring has always been an important part of Michigan’s history. A visit to the DeLano Homestead will give you a unique perspective into early maple sugaring and life in the 1800s. With a costume photo booth, horse-drawn wagon rides, and live demonstrations by blacksmiths and fiber artists, there is sure to be something for the entire family to enjoy!

In celebration of KNC’s 60th Anniversary year, we will be announcing new festival activities the week leading up to the event! Visit our website, naturecenter.org or follow our social media to learn more!
