We are so excited to have Lina from Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary come to Art Bayou! I had the pleasure of visiting the farm this summer and fell in love! I absolutely LOVE animals and the work that they’re doing! I learned so much! So I invited Lina to Art Bayou to share some reptiles with you. Because it is winter and the alligators can’t travel then, she is bringing a snake and a tortoise to learn more about and interact with. Afterwards you will be painting a pottery piece in the shape of a snake or a turtle.
The Alligator Sanctuary is a reptile rescue facility that is open to the public. They are home to hundreds of reptiles who have come to them through adoption, donation, rescue, or from other institutions. They have worked with local and state authorities with animal control needs and they also work with schools and universities with educational programs and internships. No animals are bought, sold, or traded at the Alligator Sanctuary. They provide a comfortable home and care for these animals for the rest of their lives. Check out https://www.alligatorsanctuary.com/ for more info.
Cost is $33.20 PER PERSON for the interaction with the reptiles, educational presentation, party animal (figurine) painting and firing and an admission ticket to the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary. A portion of your ticket will go back to the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary. Space is extremely limited so you must pay the full ticket price for admittance to this event. We will also be doing communal seating. Please let us know everyone’s name in your party that you would like to sit with at the time of registration.
