Poets from Kalamazoo’s Friends of Poetry group will lead budding poets from grades 7 – 12 in a workshop. Through a series of games, prompts, and exercises, poets will create and refine poems, which they can then enter into contests such as The Poems That Ate Our Ears (deadline: April 1) and the Teen Creative Writing Challenge (deadline: April 12). The February 23 workshop will cover brainstorming; the March 23 workshop will cover revision. Snacks are provided and registration is appreciated, but not required.
