Summer may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! For many, going back to school also includes signing up for their favorite fall sports league. Whether it’s baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball or basketball, Kalamazoo has many opportunities available for kids of all ages. Check out our guide below to find the best fit for your little sports star.



Kingdom Indoor Sports

Kingdom Indoor Center has leagues for children starting as young as four years old all the way through high school. Youth leagues in recreational soccer, competitive soccer, softball and baseball, and flag football are available. Your kids will enjoy playing on their special rubber-filled turf fields, which also helps with player safety. Kingdom is currently offering an early-bird special on league sign-up until October 1!


BJ Sports

Utilizing the SoccerZone facility, BJ Sports offers an indoor youth lacrosse league this fall for kids in sixth grade through high school. Games begin in October and are played on Sunday afternoons. “Learn to Play” clinics are also available for younger children. The Courthouse Athletic Center

The Courthouse in Kalamazoo offers both indoor basketball and volleyball leagues this fall. Basketball leagues range from four weeks to eight weeks for boys in third grade through high school and girls in fifth grade through high school. SoccerZone offers a variety of soccer leagues for children ages six to eighteen. Whether they are interested in under seven co-ed, beginner, recreational or competitive leagues, SoccerZone offers it all. Leagues begin at the end of October and games are played on Saturday and Sunday. Call 269-329-0171 for pricing information and to register. Youth instructional classes are also available.


YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo

In addition to athletic skills, The Greater Kalamazoo YMCA focuses on teaching core values such as honesty, respect, caring, responsibility and sportsmanship through their sports leagues. The YMCA is currently accepting registrations for youth flag football, with games beginning on September 19th. Sign up for youth basketball (Y-Ball) begins in early September, with games beginning in December. Both leagues are open to children in Pre-K through eighth grade. Non-member rates are available.
