A big “Happy Father’s Day” to all of the great dads in our community! We have some ideas of Father’s Day events and activities to do this weekend.

Father’s Day Read-In

On June 18, join the fun at the Kalamazoo Public Library. Celebrate fathers who read to their children. Join in this 2-hour read in event by sharing and listening to stories. Kids can create a special Father’s Day Card to give. All ages welcome. FREE.

Binder Park Zoo

On June 19, dads will also receive half price admission on Father’s Day when accompanied by their children or grandchildren.

35th Annual Father’s Day Car Show

On June 19 head over to the Historic Charlton Park in Hastings with over 800 vehicles on display.  Admission is $6.00 for adults,  $4.00 for kids 5-12, and age 4 and under free.

Kalamazoo Growlers Pups & Pops Day

Enjoy a fun day of Kalamazoo baseball on June 19. Bring your dog & dad to the ballpark. Zeke the Wonderdog will make an appearance and there will be a frisbee giveaway courtesy of WWMT Newschannel 3. Normal ticket prices apply.

Zazios Cooking Class

Zazios welcomes you to join us for our Father’s Day Grill month cooking class on June 18. Come and enjoy learning how to prepare 4 fabulous courses for the Grill Master himself!

Father’s Day Dinner, Program and Artist’s Reception

Take Dad out to a dinner of summertime favorites prepared by Chef Paul at the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute on June 19. After dinner Artist Laura Christensen will present “The Wildlife and Waters of Barry County,” featuring her photography. The program will be followed by the artist’s reception and a short optional hike out to Cedar Creek to enjoy the early evening views over and through the Institute’s wetlands.

Program and artist’s reception, and hike are free. You do not need to attend the dinner to enjoy them. (Normal ticket prices apply).

BasketBall Camp at the Point

Participate with your son, daughter or both and have a great time learning and playing basketball. Dads and players will learn the basic rules and fundamental skills needed to dribble, pass, shoot, and play defense through drills and games. This Junior Basketball Camp is for grades 1-5 on June 18. The cost is $30.00. “Basketball Camps for Dads and Kids, Centered on Christ.”

Father’s Day Celebration at Arcadia Brewing Company

Arcadia Brewing Company, Kalamazoo’s Riverfront Brewery and Pub is hosting a Father’s Day Celebration! Dad’s can get $5 off growler fills all day, they will have some food specials on after 4:00 pm and live music in the beer garden from 6:00 -8:00 pm.

Father’s Day Beer Dinner

At Bell’s Bell’s Eccentric Cafe on Monday, June 20 at 6:00 pm. The chefs
will be preparing a five-course dinner with beer pairings. Dishes were inspired by their dad’s favorite foods. $50/person – 21 and over.

Ritter’s Frozen Custard

Ritter’s will be offering a free cone, or the equivalent off any other item, for every father who makes a trip to Ritter’s part of their Father’s Day celebration!

Father’s Day at YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo

At the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo, they are celebrating dads by offering to them a three day free membership, June 17-19 during Father’s Day weekend. Access to the YMCA includes both the Maple and Portage Branches, and any of the free-to-member classes during those three days.

Sweetwater’s Donut Mill

June 19th, ALL 3 locations will be decorating special donuts for Dad! Bring him in for a coffee & donut or grab a delicious dozen for your Father’s Day festivities!
