Taking the kids out to a drive-in movie is a truly unique experience. They can play on the playground while the sun goes down, and then take a walk to the concession stand for treats. The concession stand features standard fare, like hot dogs, nachos, french fries, pizza, and popcorn. When the movie starts they get the exciting experience of hearing the movie come through the car speakers.

Before you go, be sure to bring cash, as most drive-ins do not take charge cards. It’s also a good idea to bring a couple folding chairs and blankets in case the kids want a better view of the movie from outside the car.

Here are five great local options to try for a great, inexpensive night out with the family.
