Summer Camp is the Best Boredom Buster
Spring has officially sprung which means summer is right around the corner. While I love summer fun and the lack of schedule and structure, I’m already dreading hearing my kids say those words.
You know the ones—“Mom, I’m bored.” It ranks right up there with “Mom, can I have a snack?”.
Luckily, Kalamazoo County Day School is offering a variety of Summer Camps to help kids aged 3-14 beat the boredom blues, keeping them energized and engaged with fun activities after the school year winds down.
2021 Summer Camps at KCDS
Kalamazoo Country Day School has something for everyone this summer. Every week features different themes, experiments, adventure, and FUN!
Summer Camp Schedule Hours: Camps run from 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM Childcare: Wrap around care is available, covering 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM Half-Day (Preschool): Half-day option for Preschool Camp ends at 11:45 AM |
Preschool Summer Camp (Ages 3 – 6)
Three- to six-year-olds have the opportunity to experience a nine-week journey of exciting adventures and endless fun! Every camp with a unique theme is bound to foster curiosity and develop a variety of social and academic skills – in a safe and caring environment!
Based on a regular preschool day, each week integrates age-appropriate math, language arts, science and technology; offering the children a unique opportunity to learn through hands-on play. Every week features a different theme such as Adventure at Sea, Dinosaurs Rock, and Summer Olympics.
KCDS Preschool Summer Camp takes place at their East Milham campus, at Sprinkle Road. You can register your camper(s) per week or even per day so you truly tailor the schedule to your needs.
School-Aged Summer Camps (Ages 7 – 14)
The fun doesn’t end with preschool. KCDS also welcomes students aged 7-14 to their Portage campus for fun and exciting camps providing a learner centered, supportive and challenging summer experience.
Similar to the preschool summer camp, every week at the KCDS School-Aged Camp has a unique and exciting theme such as Harry Potter, Culinary Camp, Programming Computer Camp, and Soccer. You can register per week so your camper can experience the full summer or just a specific week(s).
How to Register

I as a kid couldn’t go because my single mother couldn’t afford it but I remember all the kids talking about it saying it how fun it was, now I’d love for my kid to go so he can experience what I didn’t get the chance to.
