Fall is one of our family’s favorite seasons. We love all of the great family things that you can do. From apple picking to Harvest Festivals to trick-or-treat events, there are so many fall activities that make this our favorite season of the year.
Here are some of our favorite family activities, events, and traditions that we look forward to every fall.
Enjoying A High School or College Football Game
Every year we head out to a local football game or our favorite college team. Our favorite football games are the ones that happen on a crisp autumn day.

This year, they’re offering a fun way to see the garden through Tree-mendous Trees Tours. You’re able to hop on and off at specific stops to participate in these kid-friendly activities:
- Learn which trees are used to make baseball bats, musical instruments and Popsicle sticks.
- Use puppets to identify the creatures that live in trees.
- Learn why leaves change color.
- Have fun exploring sculptures that have a connection to trees.

We enjoy the simple things of the season. We love raking leaves and jumping in the leaf piles. Such a simple thing, but so much fun!

Kalamazoo and the surrounding area is home to quite a few orchards and farms. What a great way to celebrate the season by visiting one of the local farms. Apples, pumpkins, cider and donuts…who can resist that combination? Many of the orchards and farms offer fantastic activities too! Here are a few popular destinations:
- Gull Meadow Farms
