Portage Public Schools Provide Learning Plans through September 30

Portage Public Schools released the much anticipated 2020-2021 RETURN -TO -SCHOOL PLAN, which includes different learning options for elementary-aged students (Grades Y5 – 5) versus secondary students (Grades 6 – 12) in the district.

These plans are considered a Phase 4 model and are only in effect through September 30, stating:

All of these plans will be evaluated on an ongoing basis working toward the ultimate goal of having everyone back in their classrooms full-time when it is possible to do so.

In an email sent this evening, Portage Public Schools let their families know that the first day of school this fall will be on August 31, 2020.

They also stated that their learning plans have come with significant input from Portage area families: they received over 5,000 responses to their parent survey and 1,800 parents offered to participate in focus groups.

We’re highlighting what was provided in the email this evening. Parents can expect an email next week with more information.
