Public Media Network Summer Camp + Helping Young Media Makers Tell Their Own Stories

Kids attending Video Camp - Public Media Network Kalamazoo

Kids Won’t Watch the Screen this Summer, They’ll Create What’s On It

Instead of watching endless videos this summer, children have an incredible opportunity to create their own media by taking part in Public Media Network’s Summer Youth Camp in Kalamazoo.

Youth (ages 8 and older) attending camp will be able to create and view their own video content. Their creativity will air on Public Media Network. The grand finale of a camp session is a public premiere for camp participants and family members to showcase their work.

Due to the feedback from camps last year, each session for summer 2020 offers a specific theme.

Public Media Network Offers Camps Full of Creativity and Community

Kids love creating their own videos, and Public Media Network camps teach kids to use professional video equipment in order to share their stories and express their unique creativity.

Children 11 years and older may love 3D Animation. Camp participants will have the opportunity to work in a media production lab to create their own 3D characters and animations.

Along with media production camps, campers ages 8 and up can specialize in stop motion techniques, exploring the world of animation. Or, they’ll learn how to create media in order to be the next YouTube star.
