If you are staying in town for spring break and are looking for fun and exciting ways to keep your children busy, there are plenty of opportunities available in the Kalamazoo area! We have compiled a list of spring break camps, ranging from full-week camps, single days or half-days. Because there are so many differents camps available, there is something for all kids, no matter their interests!

Kalamazoo Institute of Arts

The KIA is the place for creative fun with half- and full-day Spring Break Art Camp for your kids in grades K-5. They will explore the museum’s galleries for inspiration and head into the studios to create their own two- and three-dimensional works of art. Kalamazoo Civic Theatre

Has your child shown interest in acting or singing? Sign them up for the week-long Spring Break Camp at the Kalamazoo Civic Theater. The main focus of this camp is on musical theatre singing and dancing. At the conclusion of the camp, each group will put on a musical performance. Children in kindergarten through ninth grades can sign up to be a part of the unique experience. Classes are held during the week of spring break, April 3rd through April 7th, with the final performances being held at 5:30 pm on that Friday. Musicals will be “The Movies, The Music” for grades K-3 and “On the Radio” for grades 4-9. Extended care options are available.

Kalamazoo Nature Center

For the child who enjoys exploring and learning about nature, the Kalamazoo Nature Center is offering a Spring Break Camp for children ages four through fifth grade. You can register for individual days or the entire week. Half-day options are available for ages 4-5 and full-day options are available for grades 1-5. The Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Spring Break Camp for four days beginning Monday, April 3rd. Children ages 5 to 14 can sign up for fun activities, games and field trips. Field trips include Jungle Joes, Sky Zone Grand Rapids, Holland Indoor Water Park, John Ball Zoo, and more! Registration deadline is March 27th. Early morning drop-off is also available if needed.

Mini Sports Camps

What better way to burn off that winter cabin fever than with a Mini-Sports Camp? The Maple and Portage Branch Centers are offering Spring Break Mini-Sports Camps for boys and girls ages 5 to 12. The sessions will run from 8:00 am to Noon. Campers will play a variety of sports and games every day, including basketball, soccer and much more. Please bring a swimsuit, towel and snack every day. Campers will have the opportunity to swim each day at camp.

Air Zoo

If your child is interested in science, math, and technology, check out the Air Zoo’s  “Hands On” Spring Break Day Camps. The Air Zoo is offering three separate days of camps for kids Pre-K through 5th grade. Pre-K and Kindergarten topics include Tree Homes, Bubble Festival, and Treasure Boxes. Topics for 2nd through 5th graders include Innovation Station, Super Cool Science, and Up, UP and Away. Preschool and Kindergarten age children are allowed to bring one adult with them. Kellogg Community College Lego Robotics Camp

Kellogg Community College is offering two exciting half-day Robotics Spring Break Camps. These camps are for children in grades 3-5 and will run from April 3rd through April 6th. A morning camp and an afternoon camp are offered each day and the topics are “Sumo Bots – The Ultimate Battle!” and “Speed Racer Experience – So Fast and Furious!.” It is also possible to register for both camps to create an entire day of fun!
