7 Tips From a Parent

Keep in mind these tips for the Day Out With Thomas™.

Day Out with Thomas

  1. Purchase tickets in advance. Train rides are every 30 minutes, but many of the morning times sell out.
  2. Arrive at Smiths Creek Depot about 15 minutes before your scheduled train ride. The depot is about a 15-20 minute walk from most parking areas. You can’t miss the most exciting part of the day – as Thomas pulls into the station.
  3. There is open seating on each of the five open-sided cars. Seating is first-come, first-served.
  4. Dress for the weather, rain or shine. No refunds or exchanges for ticket purchases.
  5. Bring a stroller or wagon for little ones who may get tired of walking. Find the designated stroller parking area before departing for the train ride.
  6. Immediately following the train ride, head to the other side of the Smiths Creek Depot if you want a picture with Thomas. He is only there for a limited time before his next ride.
  7. Pack lunch or snacks to bring with you, as food options are limited.
