Girl Scout Family Fun Fest

Friday, August 22 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Pfizer Park in Portage.

  • Join us for a fun family event, learn more about Girl Scouts, meet current Girl Scout families and enjoy the last days of summer vacation! Activities include: crafts, field games, carnival games, photo booth, sing-a-long, and more.

Movies in the Park – Frozen

Friday, August 22 activities begin around 7:30 pm at the South Westnedge Park in Kalamazoo. 

  • Sponsored in part by Kalamazoo Metro Transit. Grab a chair or blanket and join us under the stars for our “Movies in the Park” series, it’s FREE! Family-friendly activities and games will begin around 7:30 p.m. thanks to our sponsor, Metro Transit, with the featured movie beginning at sunset. Popcorn and snacks will be available for purchase.

Bicycle Safety Adventure 

Saturday, August 22 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Celery Flats in Portage. 

  • Learn the rules of the roads, have bike inspected, and ride the Portage Pathway. Also, first 100 child participants will receive a free helmet and t-shirt.

Kalamazoo Scottish Festival and Highland Games

Saturday, August 22 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Flesher Field in Portage.

  • Events for 2014: Stone Throw – Sheaf Toss – Light Hammer Toss – Heavy Hammer Toss – Caber Toss-Weight for Height – Light Weight for Distance – Heavy Weight for Distance
  • The wee bairns are invited to the Children’s Field for special games and activities all day long! Come try our smaller versions of the caber toss and the haggis toss, hit the castle with a catapult, decorate a targe, have your face painted, make a fairy crown, and more!

Other Fun Ideas
