Yeah for March! Spring is just around the corner and we may even get a little warmer weather this weekend. A much welcome change! So head out to one of these fun activities with your family this weekend.

For this weekend, try one of these events…



Art Hop

Friday, March 6 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at various locations in Kalamazoo. 

  • A free event held on the first Friday of every month, Art Hop is an evening of art exhibits and events; one of the great things to do in Kalamazoo. It’s fun, interactive and a great way to explore downtown that you can do alone, with friends or family, and you don’t have to be “artist” to enjoy it! March Art Hop Brochure here. 


Spring Movies

Spring movies still continue this weekend.

Flick’s Family Film Fest at Celebration Cinema Is playing Annie this weekend. Flick’s Family Film Festival returns February 27th through April 23rd with eight family-friendly titles! For each film, all regularly scheduled showtimes are free for kids 12-and-under and just $5 for adults.

Free Spring Movies at Kalamazoo 10 is playing Dolphin Tale 2. Every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. see a select movie for FREE! All ages are welcome and free of admission. ***PLAYING AT ALL GOODRICH QUALITY THEATERS.

Cartoon Cereal Party-Looney Tunes at Alamo Drafthouse in Kalamazoo. Although it’s not a free movie like the others at Celebration Cinema and Kalamazoo 10, who can resist the fun cartoon cereal parties at the Alamo? With the All-You-Can-Eat cereal bar, classic cartoons, and where pajama’s encouraged, you’ll want to check out one of these fun events at the Alamo Drafthouse when you have a chance.




Festival of Health

Saturday, March 7 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum in Kalamazoo.   

  •  Local organizations are coming together to promote a healthy lifestyle, from exercise and nutrition to preventive medicines and medical practices. This event is for people of all ages. Play games and test your knowledge, ask a pharmacist your questions, learn to dance, get a massage, find out more about nutrition, and create your own fruit and cheese kebabs. Discover healthy and safe farming practices as well as local providers of organic produce and dairy products. Try your hand at first aid, have your vision and blood pressure tested, and browse and purchase books to get you started. Find the help you need to get and keep you fit!

Maple Sugar Tours

Saturday, March 7 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm and Sunday, March 8 fro 3:00 pm-4:00 pm at the Kalamazoo Nature Center in Kalamazoo. 

  • Marvel at the magic of maple sugaring!  Discover how sunny days and chilly nights are key to a good sap run on this hike through the woods to our sugar shack.  Then, sample some real Michigan maple syrup!  Tours start indoors followed by a 45-minute guided hike.  Please dress for the weather!Members: Free, Adults: $7/Seniors $6, Children & Students (4-17) $4, Children 3 & Under: Free


Family Hockey Day in the Zoo, Kibbles & Sticks

Sunday, March 8 starting at 3:00 pm at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo. 

  • It’s Kibbles and Sticks Day! Bring your dog to the Kalamazoo Wings Game on Sunday, March 8 and check out all the fun giveaways and activities below! Fans can bring dogs to the game and sit in bark zone. Dog Show on the ice during intermission. First 500 Kids Eat FREE and First 500 Kids Receive a Giveaway Item- Main Doors Only.  Post-Game Skate presented by United Healthcare ($3 skate rental). Kid friendly activities including face painter and balloon animals



Check out the Women’s Lifestyle Expo at the Expo Center in Kalamazoo which is an annual two day extravaganza created for women by women.
