Fall is in the air! There are plenty of opportunities for fall fun this weekend. And many Halloween events start this weekend, too. So gather up the kiddos and head out to enjoy some SW Michigan fun!

FALL FAMILY FUN

ZooBoo at Binder Park Zoo kicked off this week and runs October 19-30. Activities you’ll find are trick-or-treat trail, hayride, ZooBoo Express, Binda Conservation Carousel, storytellers, backlight mini golf and more. Haunted Africa is open on Friday & Saturday nights. (Must be accompanied by a parent for 15 and younger for Haunted Africa.) Normal admission fees apply.

Arbor Financial Youth Day at WMU on October 22. The WMU vs EMU football game is at 3:30 pm. The Arbor Financial Youth Day activities, at the Seeyle Center, will run from 1:30 – 3:00 pm. Purchase your tickets online or call the Bronco Ticket Office for tickets. (See link for details and promo code).

Fall Color Hike at the Kalamazoo Nature Center on October 23. Enjoy the colors of fall while hiking through the woods to scenic overlooks. Learn how and why we see these beautiful changes in the autumn leaves! Outdoor program for all ages. Normal admission fees apply.

 

MORE PICKS HALLOWEEN FAMILY FUN

Making a Difference at Spooky Science Saturday on October 22 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Leila Arboretum and Kingman Museum in Battle Creek. Enjoy a day filled with science experiments, free things to take home, and fun for the whole family. FREE.

The City of Portage Parks Department for Monster Mash on October 22 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schrier Park in Portage. Activities include trick or treating, face painting, a hayride down the trail, a magician show, and snacks for purchase. Rain date of Sunday, October 23rd. FREE.

Halloween at The Village on October 22 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm  at Vicksburg Historic Village in Vicksburg. Activities include safe trick or treating, fun and spooky ghost stories, a chilling artifact display, decorating make and take gourds, and other ghoulishly great arts and crafts, and additional spooktacular fun awaits. Don’t forget to board the “haunted” caboose and freight car. Admission is $3/person; Members are free.
