Let’s do this! It’s going to be a hopping weekend around Kalamazoo and SW Michigan this weekend. This weekend, there is an abundance of great fall festivals. Fall festival season is officially in full swing!

So grab the kids and plan to squeeze in some great fall fun this weekend.

For this weekend, consider:

FESTIVALS & FAIRS

  • Allegan County Fair from September 9-17 at the Allegan County Fairgrounds in Allegan. Join the fun at the Allegan County Fair for rides, food, superstar entertainment, 4-H exhibits, and more!

  • Kalamazoo Balloon Festival from September 16-18 at Gull Meadow Farms in Richland. Activities include Nighttime Balloon Glows on the September 16th & 17th, entertainment on the stage, and a car show. Normal admission prices for Gull Meadow Farms apply for the activities at Gull Meadow Farms. Viewing the balloons is FREE.
  • Geek Fest on September 17 at the Antwerp Activity Center in Mattawan. Activities include gaming, cosplay, crafts, robotics, artists, authors and more. FREE.

  • Bangor Apple Festival on September 17 in downtown Bangor. Activities include kid’s activities (FREE movie and popcorn), various vendors, motorcycle show, food, live entertainment, and more.
  • Applefest & Craft Show on September 16-18 in downtown Coldwater. This festival attracts thousands of spectators each year. Activities include food trucks, apple pie eating contest, kids activities, music, craft show, and more.

  • Tillers International Harvest Fest 2016 on September 18 at Tillers International in Scotts. This event emphasizes local food, small local farmers, and draft animal power and other sustainable agricultural techniques.

  • Twice As Long Ice Cream Sundae! on September 17 at 12:00 pm in downtown Nashville. Over 200 tables will take over M-66 in downtown Nashville. To participate in breaking the world record, you need to buy a color changing souvenir spoon. $2 spoons will be available for pre-purchase at area merchants. Spoons purchased the day of the event will be $3.
  • Batman Day on September 17 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Barnes and Noble in Portage. Join the fun at the 3rd annual Batman Day celebrating the Dark Knight’s enduring legacy. The event will include activities, trivia, coloring, and much more. Batman will be there from 2:00 -2:30 pm for pictures. FREE.
