We’ve missed you. This weekend is looking up in terms of the weather and all of the family fun happening around Kalamazoo. We’ve got everything from Earth Day activities, star gazing, alligators and child safety activities & fun.

Top Picks for the Weekend for Family Fun
Friday. The Kalamazoo Valley Museum will participate in Statewide Astronomy Night (SWAN) from 5 PM to 8 PM. A number of astronomy-related activities for all ages will be presented free of charge.
Planetarium staff will share their knowledge through interactive demonstrations and discussions. Participants will learn about telescopes, make planispheres and moon dials, and see demonstrations on how to view the sun safely.
Astronomy-themed refreshments will be served. A stargazing presentation will be offered in the planetarium at 6 PM and will focus on the spring time sky and its constellations here in southwest Michigan.

Saturday. Join the Kalamazoo Nature Center for a FREE admission day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and special activities such as rail hiking, Creature Features, Children’s crafts & activities, play on the Nature’s Playground and more! See the full schedule.
Saturday. Head to Bronson Park from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM and celebrate Mother Nature. The event will include: live music ∙ food & drinks ∙ vendors ∙ fun activities for families and kids ∙ speakers ∙ educational exhibits & displays.
Saturday. Schrier Park is where you’ll want to be at 2 PM to see live reptiles. Mr. “C”, owner and founder of Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary, in an hour long program, will be presenting, with live reptiles including American Alligators, lizards, tortoises and a snake. This program will be an engaging and up close experience that all ages will enjoy. Visitors will be allowed to touch and even hold their favorite animal at the conclusion of the presentation.
Sunday. Safe Kids Day is happening from 1 PM – 4 PM at Sherman Lake YMCA. It is a time to celebrate kids, learn to prevent injuries and save lives. FREE fun – open swim, rock climbing, face painting, games are all part of the Annual Interactive Family Health Fair.
