The Remarkable Farkle McBride by John Lithgow

Join your Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra for a musical production of “The Remarkable Farkle McBride by John Lithgow”.

The remarkable Farkle McBride is a musical prodigy. He can play the violin, flute, trombone and drums with incredible skill, but something is missing. No matter how hard he tries he just isn’t satisfied with the sound of any of the instruments playing alone. In this KSO adaptation of John Lithgow’s popular children’s book, a young musician brings the sounds and rhythms of an orchestra to life.

Illustrator C.F. Payne will be joining us for The Remarkable Farkle McBride concert. To celebrate we have partnered with Bookbug and have books available for purchase. You will have the opportunity to have your book signed by C.F. Payne before the concert! Contact either the KSO office or Bookbug to order your book today!

I had no idea they offered concerts that children could attend! My boys love music and I think an orchestra petting zoo would be right up their ally.

Our family has been fortunate enough to go to a Discovery Series before. The kids love playing the instruments at the Petting Zoo. And they were mesmerized at the performance hearing the whole orchestra and how they incorporate the book into it. I just wish the tickets didn’t cost so much for a family so more people could enjoy it. Great program!
