We Are Excited that Disney’s Frozen JR. is Coming to the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre

I Can’t Hold it Back Anymore

My boys and I are not the only ones still shaking the windows of our house as we belt out Let It Go.” We still say, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” even when there has been little snow outside in Kalamazoo. Our love of Frozen is as strong as ever and we make no apologies for that.

Most children would not turn down an opportunity to twirl in an Elsa or Anna dress or don a Kristoff vest and show their love of Frozen. As a parent, the opportunity to make a special memory with my children is at the top of the to-do list. The upcoming production of Disney’s Frozen JR. at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre is sure to be a wonderful experience for the whole family.

The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre wants to give one lucky reader and their family the chance to experience the magic, love, and adventure with a family 5-pack of tickets to a production of Disney’s Frozen JR. valued at $60.

A Kalamazoo Civic Show Worth Melting For

The epic 2013 movie has been adapted for the stage. My boys and I have learned so much about love from Anna and Elsa and we are excited to be transported to Arendelle, with Sven, Olaf, and all our favorite characters live onstage at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre.

What’s exciting about this show is that we’re all going to know the songs, right?

In addition to all of the songs from the movie, the Disney Frozen JR. show features five new songs written for the Broadway production. You are sure to be singing the whole car ride home. I know my boys and I will be.

This production will run only nine performances from March 13 to March 22. There will be one ASL Interpreted (Audio Description) and one Sensory-Friendly (ASL Interpreted) performance.

All performances at the Civic Theatre are reserved seating. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance time.  Free parking is available after 6:00 PM in the Civic parking lot with additional parking behind the Carver Center. Street parking is also available after 5:00 PM.

  1. Elsa. I just asked my 4 year old and she named every character on both Frozen and Frozen 2 including the parents! But when it comes down to playing dress up she is always Elsa and has me be Anna 🙂

  2. My daughter’s favorite character is Olaf because he is funny, makes her laugh and she loves that he’s a talking snowman. She loves that “he’s just a little guy”, as she says it ? She would love to see the show!

  3. Courtney Bainbridge

My daughter loves all the characters. She just listed them all off when I asked which one she likes.

  4. Our family of 5 loves Elsa!!!! She is fierce and fun. and totally dedicated to family! We value that! <3

  5. Olaf is our family fun favorite! Thank you Civic, this would be perfect for my daughters bday?

  6. My daughter adores Elsa.
She has long blonde hair, so we have to do the “Elsa braid” often. Olaf our family fave.

  7. I LOVE Elsa – her voice, her grace, her courage❄️?
But my son loves Olaf, of course! His wit, timing & Joy ☃️
Can’t WAIT to see the Oaken family & the hidden folk dances!!!!

  8. We absolutely love all of Frozen and the characters, but I think Anna is the favorite for my great granddaughter as her name is Anna!!! Next would be Olaf!

  9. Olaf!! He’s eternally optimistic and “In Summer” was my 11 year Old’s audition piece…he’s in the show but we need more tix 🙂

  10. My daughter loves Elsa and Anna. I believe Sven to be a favorite. I love animals and love how he tells his side or thoughts with facial expressions and body language.

  11. I think Olaf is hilarious but my 4 year old daughter is so obsessed with Elsa. She wants to have “Elsa hair” every single day for school.

  12. Defnetiley for me would ne olaf for my daughter it would be elsa all the way! Love this is in kazoo.

  13. Nicole VanLeeuwen

My favorite character, and my two year old daughter’s favorite character is Elsa! Clara (my daughter) loves her because, “She’s beautiful, Mommy!” I love her especially when she sings, “Let It Go.” It’s a very empowering song, and she is finally able to embrace that she’s different from everyone else, and love herself for a minute! ?
