Show Synopsis

Instead, he only wants to work on mastering his magical skills. At the same time, another young lad, Arthur, is destined to become king – but only if he is able to pull the magical sword, Excalibur, from the stone. Through a magical twist of fate, Arthur, who is nicknamed “Wart”, and Merlin become fast friends. Ultimately, will Merlin choose his lifelong dream of magic or friendship with Arthur? My family of 3 have not been to the Kalamazoo Civic Youth Theatre before and my son is seven years old. This play sounds like something the whole family would enjoy and I would love to introduce him to theatre. Also, both my son and my husband would be even more excited to go if I won the tickets and my son could bring a friend along!!

Thanks for the opportunity to try and win tickets!!

I’ve never been to the Civic. I think it’d be great to start getting my children introduced to theater and how wonderful live productions can be! I can just imagine the looks on their little faces when they see the costumes, lights and everything at the theater!

  9. Mandy Eldred May 4, 2014 at 7:59 pm

My family has not been to the youth theater yet. We took our boys to see Peter Pan at x-mas and they loved it. I think they would love Merlin even more!

My family have not been to the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre, although we did see Junie B. Jones at the Grand Rapids Civic. My daughter was enchanted with the live performance. She wants to be in a play and perform in front of an audience.

  12. Julia May 6, 2014 at 12:28 pm

My kids are just learning about the magic of theatre and are falling in love with it! I want to broaden their experience and include the Civic as we have not been there as of yet. The Magical Adventures of Merlin sounds like a perfect show for my 11 year old son and 8 year old daughter and a performance our entire family would enjoy! Thanks for introducing so many to new experiences!

My son and I went to a showing of the Cat in the Hat at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre and he loved it! It was such a good experience. But he did look over the program and ask about the wizard picture and ask what THAT one was about.
Lately, we’ve been reading The Magic Tree House series, and I’d love for him to have an idea of the Merlin legends so that when we read about “Merlin Missions” in that series it’ll be even more fun.
