We’re excited about the latest KSO Family Discovery Series performance, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, by Dr. Suess. The performance is scheduled for Sunday, December 7 at 3:00 pm in the Chenery Auditorium.

We love the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and are so fortunate to have an arts organization that is so involved in our community! Did you see the “What You Want To Know About The Kalamazoo Symphony In Your Child’s School” article we published last week by Liz Youker, Vice President, Education and Community Partnerships for the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra? She answers the questions that you want to know about the fun programs that the KSO offers to our local schools.

My children have never been to a family discovery series before. My youngest child just started band this year and has been enjoying listening to music more than ever. A few weeks ago we were able to attend the EMU symphonic band Halloween performance during the EMU family weekend and he was THRILLED. This would be another great way to encourage his love of a new passion.

we have never been, my older son is suspected to have a processing disorder, but the one thing he has always really enjoyed is music, he loves to sing, loves to dance and loves to listen to it. And he will request specific songs in the car 🙂 He has always had a rough time expressing himself and even though many noises seem to upset him, music has always been a great soother, I would love to see how he reacts to an experience like this so we could take him to similar events in the future!

  27. Samara P November 17, 2014 at 3:30 pm

We would love to go, and share our love of music. My daughter loves to sing and dance and even has a little rhythm. We want to raise her to appreciate all forms of artistic expression, and let her own shine. I hope we win!
