As a mother, what I love about Sesame Street is that it exposes my two year old son to diversity on many levels. He is exposed to people and characters of many different kinds, with many different backgrounds and stories. In addition he is exposed to story and plots that encourage empathy, kindness and positive behavior. I love that Sesame Street can tie together education by teaching him things like his letters, numbers, vocabulary words, colors – with life lessons. My son in particular loves Elmo – he enjoys the music, particularly the song “Bye Bye Binkie” (which we are still working on 😉 ). Sesame Street makes him laugh and dance, and all the while teaches him so much! We have yet to attend a Sesame Street Production, I think my son is finally ready to sit through an embrace a show with the characters we as a family hold so close to our hearts!

(This is my second attempt at posting, I got an error message the first time. I apologize if it came through twice)

As my children and I watch Sesame Street, it takes me back to my childhood and watching it with my mom, We watch every morning for the chance to learn, sing and have fun with all the characters. My youngest son (16mon) watches around saying ‘melmo’ (Elmo) all the time. My older son (3yr) enjoys Bert and Ernie’s adventures. We have never been to a production and they seem like so much fun.

  11. Marcy October 30, 2014 at 1:15 pm

I think there have been times that I love Sesame Street more than my kids – we love The Count, Cookie Monster and the guest hosts. We have known to laugh out loud when Grover tries to be a waiter! And Elmo was a cuddle favorite for both of my girls.

  12. Amy Dunfee October 30, 2014 at 1:39 pm

I attended Sesame Street Live when I was about four years old and vividly remember the experience. I love to watch with my kids. They know it’s my favorite. I love the diverse guests, the simple style and well, everything.

  22. Jeanne October 30, 2014 at 11:57 pm

Sesame street gets our 2 year old so excited to count and work on letters, like jumping up and down excited! We watch the Sesame Street Alphabet song almost every day on YouTube ans since her name is Zoey she gets really happy when we get to “z is for Zoe”! We’ve never been to a show like this but I’m sure we would have a blast!

  23. Janell H October 31, 2014 at 12:17 am

My two boys LOVE Sesame Street!! Elmo is a definate favorite, but my 2 year old thinks Cookie Monster is “so cozy.” He has a little Cookie Monster stuffed animal he sleeps with and gives lots of hugs and kisses too. This would be such a fun event for them to experience. We have never been to a show.

  24. Heather Schettner October 31, 2014 at 1:06 am

    The singing.

  25. Brenda F. October 31, 2014 at 5:12 am

My husband’s and my life changed drastically a year ago August when we became foster grandparents for 2 of our grandchildren, ages 2 & 7. I count on sites like yours to connect us to happenings that will give these 2 boys joy to balance out the trauma they have endured. Sesame street is wonderful for all the reasons listed above, especially the education with deeper social messages of right/wrong, acceptance, self-esteem, compassion and peaceful co-existence for ALL. For these boys it has brought humor, an opportunity to escape into this magical world where the monsters are nice and love cookies and count, and a time of dancing, laughter and fun! My now 3 year old grandson would watch the counting sesame street DVD all day long if he could and to watch him seeing the characters come to life would be amazing! These boys have never been to a live
performance and I know they would LOVE it! Thanks for this opportunity and for this site!

  26. Norma Stange October 31, 2014 at 5:38 am

Out bedtime routine is watching “Elmo Teeth” (as they call it) as well as other songs the Sesame Street gang has been singing with celebrities recently.
