Winter Camp 2018 at Camp Kidwell

Winter break is a fun time, but wouldn’t it be great to make some new friends, go sledding, play in the snow, sing campfire songs and have a great time.  Camp Kidwell is hosting is annual Winter Camp and we would love to have you join us! Not only will we be having a great time enjoying the snow, playing video games, building with Legos and so much more, but we will also be throwing a great New Year’s Eve Party.

Sherman Lake YMCA is offering an overnight camp from December 28 -December 29 for kids in grades 2-10 (ages 7-14) with a separate program for the older campers. Some of the fun activities include archery, swimming, rock climbing, arts & crafts, games, sledding, winter fun, including overnight in their warm cozy cabins and five meals and snacks. Cost is $99.

Winter Explorers

Gilden Woods and AppleTree Childcare offers their Winter Explorers Winter Break Camp. Winter Explortwo-week two week winter break camp full of fun activities planned for your school-ager! Take field trips, create art projects & have fun with friends. Healthy breakfast, lunch & snack provided. You’ll find more information at:


Kalamazoo Nature Center is offering Winter Break Camps January 2-5, 2018. There are two targeted ages groups for camp: Ages 4 & 5 is Half Day Camps and Grades 1-5 is Full Day Camps. The camps geared toward kids ages 4 & 5 will meet from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and the cost is $20 per day for members and $25 per day for non-members. 

Camps are geared toward kids in grades 1-5 will have full day camp from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and the cost is $40 per day for members and $45 per day for non-members. Packed sack lunches and snacks are encouraged for older campers. Themes vary by day and activities include: stories, art, games, activities, journaling/observation time, and hikes. Water bottles recommended, as well as weather appropriate clothing. Please leave electronic and distracting toys home.


YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo

The YMCA of Kalamazoo is offering Winter Break Sports Camps at both of their locations: Portage and Maple Street Branches.

The Winter Break Sports Camps are for kids ages K – 12 and runs December 27-29 and January 3-5 from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. The cost is $33 for members per week and $48 for non-members per week.


Growlers Winter Baseball Camp

Join the Kalamazoo Growlers and Hardball Fans for a two-day winter baseball camp hosted by Growlers Field Manager Cody Piechocki. The camp will run December 28th & 29th from 9 AM – 3 PM at Hardball Fans.

Players Ages 8-11 & 12-14 can learn skills in:
• Base Running
• Hitting
• Catching

Excel Dance Center

Celebrate the Magic of the season with dancing, tumbling, fun music, stories, cookies and more!  Holiday theme camps are a great time to get some shopping done, enjoy the sales or even just give your kiddo a fun break. You’ll find fun-themed camps such as: Royal Cookie Cutters & Gingerbread Jams. Sign up’s start on Monday, Dec. 4th and are on a first come basis.


Winter Yoga Kids Camp

This is a fun 3-day Intro to Yoga for kids at River Bend Yoga – Plainwell. $20/per student for the 3 days or $7/ drop-in. December 27-29.

  • 11-11:30am 4-6 year olds – Learn yoga through storytelling by learning how to grow tall like a tree, flow like the river and shine like the sun.
  • 12-12:45pm 7-12 year olds – This class will teach kids the basics of yoga such as deep breathing, finding focus through balancing poses, strengthening and stretching their body and mind.

Air Zoo

Break away from the cold weather and enjoy some family fun at the Air Zoo! Every Wednesday through Friday from December 27 – January 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Air Zoo will host special family-themed activities including arts, crafts, games, special visitors, and interactive demonstrations.
