I remember when both of my kids said “mama” for the first time. As those two little syllables blended, my heart melted with my new, official title.
As each grew older, the calls for “mama” grew in frequency, leaving me a bit weary at the end of the day after my name was on repeat.
However, someday, I know that “mama” will be replaced with “mom,” and it will be said much less often. These moments often leave me conflicted about watching my kids grow up versus missing their younger, diapered versions.
