Less Fear and More Fun from the Moment You Walk In
Let’s face it, parents and caregivers know kids aren’t generally thrilled to visit the dentist, but thanks to Dr. Jody and the staff at Portage Pediatric Dentistry, your kids may be begging to return to the dentist a lot sooner than you think.
Portage Pediatric Dentristy treats children from infancy through adolescence in a state-of-the-art dental facility.
Patients come first and it is evident the minute you enter through the door. In addition to the main seating area, there are colorful rainbow-floored play areas designed to entertain and comfort children while waiting.
The office has a one-of-a-kind interactive Lightzilla wall as well as a magnetic tube maze. Make sure your kids look closely, and they might see the door that the Tooth Fairy uses after visiting her patients.
Kindness in Their Approach
Kindness, not fear, reigns supreme at the office. Each appointment is tailored to the individual child, where they will receive the care, compassion, and understanding they deserve. This will help them, and you, know exactly what’s going on at all times. Children are encouraged to look at their own x-rays and be in charge of their own health.
“My goal is that every child and parent receive not only exceptional dental treatment but feel like a part of our dental family. We are dedicated to tailoring your child’s appointment to their individual needs so they leave feeling cared for, understood and excited to come back. Yes, going to the dentist can be fun!” Dr. Jody says.
Kids Love Dr. Jody’s Special Care
Portage Pediatric Dentistry is dedicated to making all patients feel comfortable, whether your child is one who can’t wait to sit in the dental chair or one who needs some additional time and attention. Parents can rest assured that their kids are in capable hands.
Portage Pediatric Dentistry offers handouts and suggestions online for how to make a visit more comfortable. They recently added sensory baskets to help kids feel more at ease. The staff receives regular training on special needs, and hosted an autism education seminar for local pediatricians.
Dr. Jody’s office takes pride in educating children and caregivers on the importance of preventative care for healthy teeth. Dr. Jody talks to youth at area schools. The office works with other local dentists to adopt methods for dental care that are less invasive for the patient.
Additionally, the office brings education and kindness to the community. This summer they encouraged random acts of kindness by asking patients to complete 12 acts of kindness to be entered for a grand prize.
Who leads the charge on these events? Why, the Tooth Fairy, of course! She surprised kids at Sky Zone with free toddler-time jump, and bought kids ice cream at Ritters.
