Grand Opening of New KidFit Daycare in August 2020
Located in Portage, KidFit Daycare recently opened its new facility on Merchant Place. Child-centered and play-focused, this daycare offers care for ages six weeks to twelve years, including support of virtual school students.
KidFit uses the HighScope Curriculum, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development with an emphasis on physical health and wellness.
And in support of this wellness focus, KidFit offers a unique opportunity for children with its partnership in Kingdom Sports. Located in the same parking lot, kids will make regular visits to Kingdom to run and play.
Partnership with Kingdom Sports
Support of wellness and physical fitness at KidFit Daycare is easy with an indoor sports complex next door. All children one year and older will visit Kingdom Sports daily for fun, physical activities.
This massive facility boasts 60,000 square feet of indoor space, guaranteeing physical activities every day- rain or shine!
There are other perks to this fantastic partnership for families too; children four years and older will receive one free session of soccer classes at Kingdom and 50% off any subsequent ones.
Daycare for 6 Weeks – 12 Years
With providing care for infants through big kids, KidFit knows that each age range has different developmental needs.
Infants (6 Weeks – 1 Year)
The infant classroom is stocked with sensory-motor materials for babies to explore and grow. Caregivers ensure babies can play and learn at their own pace and have a calm and quiet space to rest.
KidFit also maintains consistent, but flexible schedules that are tailored to each baby.
Toddlers (1 – 3 Years)
Toddlers learn through active play, including art, motor play, dramatic play and group activities. And when your toddler is ready, KidFit partners with parents to work together on potty training.
There are two classrooms for this age group: 1-2 and 2-3 years old.
Preschool (4- 5 Years)
KidFit works hard to ensure your preschooler is excited and ready for future school success. Preschoolers will work on language, motor skills and fostering independence by learning activities such as tying shoes and scissor skills.
All of that work also includes plenty of play, including time at Kingdom to work on throwing, climbing and kicking.
School Age (6 – 12 Years)
To adapt to a variety of families’ needs, KidFit offers both full-time support for virtual learners as well as before and after care for kids attending school in person.
Virtual School Support
Virtual learning is covered at KidFit with a full-day, full-week classroom. A teacher will be in the classroom, offering support and enrichment throughout the day.
Snacks and meals are provided. Kids will receive daily outside time, free play and access to Kingdom Sports.
Before & After Care
Attending school in person? KidFit helps families by offering before and after school care. This program also covers snow days, half days, winter break and spring break.
Bus service is available with Portage Central Elementary. Arrangements with Lake Center for bus service are in process and expected to start in October 2020.

Daycare Ages: 6 weeks – 12 years
