Mom2Mom Sale Tips
1 – Bring Cash: While some vendors may accept Venmo or other electronic payments, cash is often the preferred payment method. You’ll also need it for the entrance fee (usually $2-$3).
2 – Make Transport Plans: Throw some bags and boxes in your car to make transporting your items easier.
If you’re planning to buy “baby gear” (ride-on toys, exersaucers, etc.), rearrange your car the night before to make room for larger items.
3 – Bring Snacks: Even if shopping solo, you’ll need to refuel. Some events include a bake sale, but don’t count on being fed.
If the kids are along for the shopping adventure, definitely have snacks and beverages ready.
4 – Give Kids a Budget: If your children are shopping, let them shop and pay for their items (when age appropriate). It’s a fun way to teach them about money.
5 – Set a Budget and List of Desired Items: It’s easy to get excited about a “deal” and then realize you didn’t, in fact, need more footie pjs.
Go through the kids’ closets before the sale to map out your shopping strategy.
6 – Gather Your Presale Intel: Many sales will post photos as sellers are setting up (24-48 hours prior). Most have Facebook events, groups and/or pages with the inside scoop.
