Year-round lessons are available in increments of 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the age and skill level of the musician. Programs are available for infants/toddlers through adults, including programs for students with special needs and ensembles for all ages.

Jazz & Creative Institute | 310 N Rose St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007

Jazz & Creative Institute (JCI) in downtown Kalamazoo offers opportunities to study jazz and other creative music for all instruments, ages and ability levels. JCI Faculty consists of some of the best and most inspiring professional jazz musicians from all across Southwest Michigan. Students can study online or in-person in a one-on-one private lesson setting or be a part of one of the ensembles that meet weekly.

Kalamazoo Music School teaches both online and in-person in downtown Kalamazoo. Lessons include guitar, piano, ukulele, voice, singing, bass, drum, trumpet, saxophone, and trombone. Instruction is available for both individuals and groups/ensembles.

Marshall Music Company | 951 Mall Dr, Portage, MI 49024

Marshall Music Co. offers music lessons in all band and orchestra instruments as well as piano, voice, guitar, and drums. Styles include classical, jazz, pop, and rock. All ages and ability levels are welcome and challenged at Marshall Music Co. Instruments are also available for rental or purchase and repair services are offered.

Offering instrument rental as well as repair services, students can rent and take lessons on a wide range of instruments including string, brass, woodwind, voice, piano, and percussion. Classes in songwriting, music theory and composition are also available.

Weekly private and group lessons offered in violin, piano, cello and percussion. Private lessons vary from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the playing level and age of the student. Students at the Suzuki Academy follow a curriculum developed by Shinichi Suzuki, which focuses on small, success-oriented steps.
